On the weekends Tony would make the two-and-a-half-hour drive to Raleigh, we would spend our Saturday mornings here at Jubala. They have wonderful biscuits and sandwiches. Tony usually gets a carafe of black coffee (lame) and Katarina recommends the Almond Latte.
One of Tony and Katarina's favorite restaurants in Raleigh. Tony has a preference for their elite list of Whiskeys from around the world while Katarina has a preference for their lamb burger and southern desserts.
On Tony's second weekend in Raleigh, we went to Relish for brunch at 11 AM and didn't leave until three in the afternoon! (Our poor waitress!)
They have fantastic brunch, lunch, and dinner. Katarina loves the shrimp and grits (pictured above) but the mac and cheese is a local favorite.
It wouldn't quite be Katarina if she didn't drag Tony to a museum (or two) on his first weekend in Raleigh with her.
The North Carolina Museum of Art and the Museum of Natural Sciences are located right next to each other and are free and open to the public. If you have time feel free to go! (The Dueling Dinosaur Excavation Exhibit is so cool!)
Need some last-minute shopping? The Crabtree Valley Mall has just about everything could think of (and probably a few things you didn't think of, too).
